Which Essential Oils do I use?
As I try to incorporate real whole food into my diet, I try to source products that will support this lifestyle, from my local farm produced eggs and milk to the raw honey that I buy locally. The same goes for essential oils. Young Living offers this — they own their farms, they have an extensive testing lab and bottle all of their own oils. I trust their essential oils above all others because they are pure and unadulterated and are manufactured for therapeutic use, not just for their smell.
In the U.S. the FDA approves oil companies to mark their essential oils as 100% pure oils if they have 5% of that oil in the bottle. So you could buy a bottle of Lavender off of the internet or at the Health food store that lists the oil as 100% pure essential oil and it would only need to have 5% of pure Lavender oil in the bottle, the rest of it could be solvents, chemicals or carrier oils. This is why you’ll see such a discrepancy in oil prices between companies. It may be a less expensive bottle, but will be less pure and have less therapeutic value as well.
You can have confidence in Young Living Therapeutic Pure Oils. The plants are grown on virgin land, no chemicals are used to grow, harvest or distill them, they are only distilled one time (many companies distill the same plants 2-3 times to get more out of the plants, but this reduces the quality of the oil), the oils are extensively tested in a state of the art laboratory and they also run periodic tests with a 3rd party testing lab. If the oils don’t pass the strict standards of Young Living’s Therapeutic Pure Oils, the oil won’t be bottle and sold, instead it will be used as pesticides on the farm or in cleaning.
Young Living has been around for over 20 years and is the largest essential oil company the world and has the greatest variety of essential oils. Many of their oils are unique to Young Living — like their Copaiba Oil from Brazil and their Idaho Balsam Fir which I use for pain relief from my sciatica. Their many farms all over the world can ensure a great selection with the best of quality.
How can I purchase these Young Living Therapeutic Pure Oils?
You can purchase the essential oils I recommend in one of two ways: WHOLESALE or RETAIL via the Young Living website.
What does becoming a Wholesale Member entail?
When you sign up to buy the oils Wholesale you will be joining the “discount club” and will get 24% off on every product that is offered. Think of it as similar to joining a discount club such as Costco or Sam’s Club.
As a wholesale member of this “discount club” you only have to agree to order a minimum of $50 per year to keep an active account. That’s it!! You do not have to order a monthly amount in order to benefit from being a wholesale member. However, there is an optional monthly autoship program that you have the option of participating in if you would like to earn reward points to use towards buying extra product.
You don’t need to sell oils or start a business if you don’t want to, you can join solely to use the oils for you and your family. However, if you would like to share your love of the oils with others you have the opportunity of creating a great financial lifestyle for yourself.
To begin as a wholesale member you start with purchasing an enrollment kit. There are many kits to choose from. The premium starter kit is for sure the best buy.

Do I have to build a business if I enroll as a wholesale member?
No, building a business with Young Living is optional. Many of our wholesale members enroll just so they can get the wholesale pricing for themselves and their families. As they share the results they get with their family and loved ones, it is common for people to do a little business and earn bonuses from Young Living without even trying!

For U.S. distributors, Young Living Essential Oils is required by law to report any annual earnings of $600 or more to the IRS and send you a W-2.
